High Level Meeting on Strengthening Immunization Program to Achieve Universal Health Coverage in Bangladesh

There is no alternative to strengthening vaccination programs to ensure universal health coverage in Bangladesh.

On Tuesday (February 25) morning, a meeting titled “High-Level Meeting on Strengthening Immunization Program to Achieve Universal Health Coverage in Bangladesh” was organized at the CIRDAP auditorium in the capital by Shastho Shurokkha Foundation and in strategic partnership with UNICEF and Shastho Shurokkha Foundation. Mr. A. T. M. Saiful Islam, Additional Secretary (Public Health Division), Health Services Division, Ministry of Health and Family Planning, Dhaka, was present as the chief guest at the event. He said that Bangladesh’s vaccination program is a role model for the world. By strengthening the vaccination process, we want to transform ourselves into a developed nation or a developed state. When we can become a 100% educated and well-intentioned nation, we will no longer have any deficiencies or obstacles, and only then will a developed Bangladesh be built, God willing. The government is working toward this goal. At the same time, the vaccination program is being monitored better so that no child is deprived of vaccination, and the vaccination program is being given importance for the protection of children.

Also present at the meeting were Md. Mohsin, Director General, Autism Cell; Mohammad Shafiul Alam, Joint Secretary, Public Health-2 Branch (Additional Responsibility), among others.

The program was moderated by Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam, Policy Advisor, Shastho Shurokkha Foundation and Professor, Department of Sociology, Jagannath University.

The meeting was also attended by health officials of the City Corporation, representatives of UNICEF, and the World Health Organization. In addition, high-ranking government and private officials and representatives of domestic and foreign development cooperation agencies were present.
